Bato slams Alejano: Hindi mo alam na ang drug transaction nangyayari sa gabi, kasi hindi ka pulis!
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa lectured Magdalo Representative Gary Alejano after the latter claimed that he found an ‘intriguing patterns’ in the war against illegal drugs.
In a press conference several days ago, Alejano who showed a graphical analysis of 1,005 spot reports of the deaths of 1671 drug suspects from July 2016 to September 2017.
After studying the said graphical analysis, Alejano noticed that anti-illegal drug raids are usually conducted at night time and he found it intriguing.
“The conduct of operation during these hours could provide concealment to our police personnel for improved apprehension of drug suspects, or maybe the PNP purposely chose to conduct operations during these inconspicuous hours to conceal their activities from witnesses,” Alejano said.
Alejano questioned why most of the slain drug suspects who supposedly fired at policemen first are usually armed with a .38 revolver, suggesting that the cops only planted it.
In response, Dela Rosa who led the PNP to fight the rampant trade and use of Shabu in the Philippines said that Alejano doesn’t know anything about the illegal drug trade in the country because the Representative is a Navy Officer and not a cop.
“Hindi kasi niya alam ‘yan eh, kasi Navy siya, hindi siya pulis. Hindi niya alam ‘yan na ‘yung transaction ng droga ay nangyayari sa gabi…sa madilim sa lugar. Congressman Alejano, I’m very sorry to tell you na hindi mo alam yung pattern dahil you’re a Navy officer, hindi ka pulis,” Dela Rosa said.
Dela Rosa on Alejano's insinuation that cops might be using the same .38-cal gun to plant as evidence in the drug war: If you are a criminal gusto mo ba gumamit ng baril na
may lisensya na may serial number na matrace sa iyo? .38 ang pinaka-easily available. @ABSCBNNews pic.twitter.com/nkjEuiUTpZ— Maan Macapagal (@maan_macapagal) February 17, 2018
“Kung pulis ka sana alam mo na ang drug transaction nangyayari sa gabi, pag gabi lahat ng mga adik at pusher tulog yan. Pag gabi at medyo madilim na, dahan dahan yang gigising. Kaya lahat ng buy bust operation nangyayari sa gabi.” he added.
Dela Rosa also explained that .38 revolver is more cheaper and accessible in the black market that’s why criminals chose to use it.
“If you are a criminal gusto mo ba gumamit ng baril na
may lisensya na may serial number na ma-trace sa iyo o sa kaninumang tao na madadamay sa ginawa mong krimen? So gagamit ka ng unlicensed firearm and .38, yes dahil ang .38 ang pinaka-easily available in the underground market,” Dela Rosa said.

Bato also challenged Alejano to conduct another investigation on war against drugs instead of making speculations.
“Mag-conduct sila ng imbestigasyon and malaman nila ang totoo. Wala kaming tinatago. You can open our hearts, gusto niyo buksan ko yung dibdib, yung puso namin, wala kaming tinatago, we are open,” he said.
Alejano is one of the fiercest critic of Rodrigo Duterte and together with Senator Trillanes, they travel to the Netherlands last year to file a complaint against the President before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Aside from Alejano, several politicians and human rights group also utterly opposed the war against illegal drugs launched by the Duterte administration and claimed that the anti-illegal drug operations resulted to the deaths of thousands of civilians.
However, Bato is determined to defend the organization and prove that they’re not a ‘killing machine’ which the opposition claims.
